AI training for Massachusetts restaurants — reimbursed up to $15,000
Independent restaurants, cafés and caterers across Massachusetts run on thin margins and thinner time. AI4BIZ Academy teaches owners and managers to use AI for marketing, scheduling, reviews and vendor admin — and the Commonwealth's Workforce Training Fund Express Grant reimburses the training, up to $3,000 per employee per approved course and $15,000 per company per year.
What this fixes
- Slow weeknights and unpredictable covers
- Hours lost writing menus, specials, social posts and job ads
- Online reviews going unanswered
- Scheduling and vendor emails eating manager time

Questions from restaurants owners
Does a restaurant qualify for the MA Express Grant?
Massachusetts for-profit and nonprofit businesses with 100 or fewer W-2 employees qualify, and that includes most independent restaurants, cafés, bars and catering companies. Owners on payroll count as employees.
Can I send my managers instead of myself?
Yes. Any W-2 employee can be enrolled, and you can mix owners, GMs and shift leads in the same cohort.
Do we need to close the restaurant to attend?
No. Courses are live online and scheduled outside typical service hours, so managers can attend without shutting down.
